Sun participated in the Burton Catalyst conference in Spain, Barcelona. At this conference, the
OSIS (Open Source Identity System) group conducted the second Windows
CardSpace interoperability testing. During these event, open
source projects as well as proprietary products test their
implementation of the Windows CardSpace identity system protocols
against the Microsoft implementation and each other.
Various group members from Sun were quite busy with Mrudul Uchil (from the
OpenSSO
team), Jiandong Guo (from Metro Web Services Team) and Gerald Beuchelt (Chief
Technologist's Office)scrambling to teach OpenSSO
to issue Windows CardSpace-compliant InfoCards and respond correctly to
WS-Trust STRs. Overall, it went quite well and this exercise uncovered
a
few issues that will help us make both products (OpenSSO and
Metro/Tango) better.
Sun is working on making this code accessible to the general public as
soon as we can - but
please bear in mind that we had to make changes to WSIT/Metro and
OpenSSO, and some of these are not (yet) considered critical for the
products.
